Five o’clock in the afternoon and it is still drizzling. I came prepared as always and would normally do. I packed my clothes with Ziploc and keep them in types so as easy finds and access all at the same time. This has been one of the best Travel hacks I do consistently.
Is it just I or some bus terminals are quite confusing especially when no clear signage was nowhere to found? So I came from the Starmall Terminal in Alabang and since for this trip, I invited one of my College friends. I picked her up in BGC. For almost an hour I was inside traffic going to Ayala and then another 30 minutes or less waiting for Market Market Bus.
My friend and I decided to spend the night at their house in Cogeo. As planned we would leave the earliest possible time on Sunday to witness the sea of clouds. But she thought it was too early so we moved it to 10am, okay fine!
From Cogeo we took a Jeepney going to Tanay and alight to Barangay Maysawa or the Maysawa Circuit. Travel time is almost an hour. And from your drop off there are Tricycles waiting for you. We arrived hungry this time, too early for lunch since it's only 11am. You’ll pass by the El Patio Razon which is famous for its Kawa Bath soon after it was featured in a local Tv Show Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho. Tricycle costs 50 pesos per head and mind you, be prepared for the bumpy and muddy road.
After eating and since we were still waiting you can already appreciate the view of the Mountains. And waiting time became like 365 days already, my friend and I both know how much more time we were waiting.
We decided then to go back to EL Patio, so that’s another 50 pesos to rent a tricycle but in reality, you can really just walk in less than 20 minutes. Anyway, there’s a 50 pesos entrance fee and for 300 pesos you can enjoy the famous Kawa bath and that’s already good for sharing. What’s really more relaxing than the hot bath while overlooking the view of the mountains. And we waited in envy of the couple enjoying their romantic moments as we make the most of it on a hammock. So if you decided to go there next time make sure you bring extra clothes.
We walked back to Treasure Mountain and it was easier because it was downslope from El Patio. Lucky enough we were allowed to check-in by 2:30pm. This time my excitement came into the picture again. It was a 20 minute or less hike going up the mountain. And believe me, it's not the hardcore hike. We were welcomed by two Staff from the registration. There was almost just us because it was Sunday. Normally guests come in Friday and Saturday. You Can either pitch a tent or rent one of their attic rooms for 500 pesos. Tent rental is 250 pesos and Tent is pitching in 300 pesos.
After checking the Attic room it’s photo-op time! The view was stunning and it felt so good because you were that close to nature. Just staring at them and looking at how vast they are stretched is so unbelievable. There is this feeling inside that is just so hard to explain while you are there standing and wandering how great our planet is.
By 4:30 pm we here hungry again? Yes, it is quite exhausting especially after taking a lot of photos and videos.
There is a place to eat but please come prepared with your budget as their meals range from 150 pesos to 250 pesos not including your drinks yet.
Then we head back to another photo op on the other side of the mountain. There are some rock formations and you may pose there at your own risk as they are already at the edge of the mountains.
As we expected, it rained again from 5pm until like 7pm. So we decided to stay in our room. Electricity is powered through solar Panels and their generator starts from 6pm until 6am so you can charge your phones or batteries.
We woke up at 3am where it was freezing cold outside. I bet you this time you are already convinced how excited I am to witness the sea of clouds. This time we walked like a 15-minute hike going on top of the mountain to get the best view of the sea of clouds.
Emotional! That’s how I would explain the feeling of watching the view of the clouds you don’t normally see. It was a heaven-like scene because you were literally on top of it from a mountain. It’s so weird or it is just me that feels so alive and I can't fathom how many times my brain went into an explosion with so many thoughts about our planet, about the world. I am so thankful that I was finally able to witness the sea of clouds. And if by any chance this is my place on earth I think I would not mind. I would not mind the simplicity of life here and the abundance of magnificent art of nature.
I want to go back to this place. One of the best finds I should say.
